Tradition of Rowing Events
With a rich history of rowing, Bled has proudly hosted:
- World Championships in 1966, 1979, 1989, and most recently in 2011
- European Rowing Championships in 1956 and 2023
- World Cup in 2010 and 2015
- 2017 World Rowing Masters Regatta – a record breaking masters rowing event
- Many international regattas such as Euro Masters Regatta, International Regatta
Green Sport And Green Event
Rowing is known as one of the cleanest sports that has little impact on the environment. At the rowing events in Bled, sustainability is a priority, with zero-waste practices and eco-friendly initiatives. This commitment fosters a strong bond with the local community and increases environmental awareness and responsibility.
Bled - Zero Waste Destination
Bled had the first zero-waste hotel in Slovenia, and the city of Bled is aiming to introduce a zero-waste initiative. This will also be implemented at the Bled Rowing Events. Our commitment:
- Separating waste for collection
- Reuse of materials
- Cooperation with local suppliers
- There are many drinking water fountains in Bled, so you do not have to buy water in plastic bottles.
Green Transportation
- A platform with 200 bicycles for convenient transportation from the hotels to the regatta venue
- Walking distance to regatta venue
- Electric busses and cars for shuttle transportation
- Mainly electric boats
Green Energy
A nGen battery will be used instead of the diesel generator to serve as a backup generator for the TV Compound and competition services.
